Victorian Chop House Co. Commission
Part of winning the 2010 Best in the North competition, along with having my work auctioned, prints sold, and a 2011 exhibition was that I received a private commission for Roger Ward - the event's organiser.
He especially loved the the old fashioned/ crowd element in the winning piece - along with the surreal balloon element. He commissioned a drawing which coupled these elements with the inclusion of his pub in Manchester Mr Thomas' Chop House on Cross Street; which is an absolutely beautiful building, in an extremely well windowed street!

pencil (and about a month of drawing)
For the "balloon element" I used maya to create a 3D blimp/ balloon; not entirely out of keeping with the proposed time period of the drawing. I also designed a promotional advert for Tom's Chop House to make the blimp both out of place and promotional! This advert can be seen on my blog and accessed by clicking the link above.
The final piece is now completed and I will be posting the completed piece as soon as it is scanned and safely tucked away in my computer!
